Magic is a handsome black cat with a perfectly placed tuxedo spot. He’s an old boy, always ruled the house with his demands to eat and have someone pay attention to him. Now at 18 years old, he’s started to slow down and is showing signs of getting into a nice routine. The vet has him on thyroid medicine, which of course he pushes around his dish when we mix it in his food. When I came back after a two-week business trip, the cat looked like he lost ALL his body mass and muscle! I know my daughter was taking care of him as she always does but he looked alarmingly thin. The vet said it might have been the disruption of his routine, with me gone for two weeks, so we adjusted his thyroid medicine dose, tried some different food and of course, called Sherri!
Sherri came over right away and immediately connected with Mr. Magic. While he displays an attitude toward us and acts aloof and uninterested, she put her hands on him and the first thing he showed her was a heart and flowers. So sweet! I know my cat has an attitude on the outside but he’s really a sweetheart and was showing her that he knows she’s here to help.
As Sherri continued to connect with him, my previously sluggish cat seemed to perk up! He actually got out of his bed, went to his food bowl and started eating! And that’s just the beginning. In the weeks following Sherri’s work on him, he’s getting up, eating, and is showing signs of interest in his food. He’s doing SO much better, is purring, and looks content and has a sort of ‘knowing’ about him, like he knows that he got help and appreciates the love.
Sherri has a wonderful gift for connecting with animals and their owners. She’s now an essential part of my pet’s care team and I highly recommend her for anyone that cares about their pet – and their family!
