Q. What is Reiki?
A. Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that has been around since the 1800's.
Q. How is it done?
A. Reiki can be performed in person with a practitioner's hands either on or close to the client or from a distance.
Q. Is it safe?
A. Reiki is absolutely safe as there is no pressure, force or manipulation.
Q. Are there contraindications?
A. There are absolutely no contraindications with Reiki. The energy always finds the area that is most in need of healing.
Q. Can it hurt my pet?
A. Reiki energy can never do any harm.
Q. What is the difference between healing and a cure?
A. Healing can bring comfort and peace to a situation whereas a cure totally removes the anomoly.
Q. Is Reiki a substitute for veterinary care?
A. Reiki is complimentary to traditional veterinary care.
Q. What does it feel like?
A. Everyone's experience is different. Some may feel warm, others extreme peace and\or tingling. Many clients fall asleep during a session while others report that the sleep following a session is the "best sleep I've had in a long time".
Q. How many sessions does it take to see a difference?
A. Many clients report a marked improvement after only 1 session.
Q. How long does a session last?
A. Sessions are either 1/2 hour, an hour or longer. Most clients opt for a 1 hour session.
Q. How do I prepare?
A. You do not have to do anything to prepare, however a short conversation with your practitioner can be a helpful start.
Q. Can I have Reiki sent to someone without letting them know?
A. Absolutely. People do it with prayer all the time.
Q. Do you do work on people?
A. Absolutely. I started sharing this gift with animals but also have a growing list of human clients. Many client requests are to send healing to loved ones that are either sick or going through some type of life crisis. I have also been asked to send reiki to assist with performances. The possibilities for sending reiki are endless!
